5th Annual KCA Renaissance Faire

Dear Parents,

The time draweth nigh for our 5th Annual KCA
Renaissance Faire! This is our biggest
fundraiser of the year and we look forward to
your participation. Here are some details to
hopefully answer all your questions:


TICKETS
We have a limited number of tickets on sale
for parents, family and friends. Please
purchase your tickets from the KCA office as
soon as possible so you don’t miss out.
Adult faire & meal tickets - $25 each
Student faire & meal tickets-$15 each(ages 11-18)
Child faire & meal tickets - $10 (ages 5-10)
KCA students attend and eat for FREE
Adult/Student faire-only tickets - $10
Child faire-only tickets - $5 (ages 5-10)
Children under age 5 attend FREE
Faire-only tickets give the option to bring your
own picnic lunch and join us for all the
wonderful events, games and performances.
There will be food for sale at the faire
including refreshing drinks, hot BBQ ribs and
various other goodies.


KCA students do not need to purchase
tickets or their meal. We are asking that
students be at the faire by 9:30 am. On the
back is a schedule of events, which will help
you determine at what point your child will be
performing. Other than the time of their
performance, attendance is not mandatory
but we would certainly love for everyone to
enjoy all the special features of our faire.

For our KCA families, if the ticket cost is
prohibitive to your attendance, please contact
the KCA office. We certainly want to see you
there! If you are unable to attend but you
would like your child to participate, please let
your child’s teacher know.
Since we only advertise our Renaissance Faire
by “word-of-mouth,” please feel free to invite
your family and friends who might be
interested in our wonderful event. We also
have Renaissance Faire flyers available in the
office if you would like to hand them out to
friends at church or your workplace.


COSTUMES
We encourage each student to wear a
costume. Students in K-3 may wear any
Renaissance-era costume. If your child is in
grades 4-8, please contact your child’s
teacher for specific costume information in
regard to their play character. We would like
to continue with our Costume Closet at KCA.
If you would like to donate an outgrown
costume from previous years, please drop it
off at the office. If your child is in need of a
costume, please stop by the office and visit
our Costume Closet to borrow a costume.
Parents, family and friends are also
encouraged to attend in period dress. There
will be a parade of costumes for students.
 

LOCATION
The Renaissance Faire will once again be
located at 3400 East Highland Springs Road in
Lakeport (thank you to the Scullys for opening
their property to us). A map is printed on the
back of the tickets. There is plenty of offroad parking

and a short walk to reach
“Shakespeare in the Meadow.” We
recommend sturdy shoes since the event is
outdoors. We will have transportation for
those unable to walk down to the meadow.
Some seating will be provided (bales of hay)
but you may want to bring a blanket or lawn
chair for your comfort.


FAIRE T-SHIRTS
Once again we will have Annual Renaissance
Faire T-shirts designed by Wes Nelms of
WesPhotos.com. The shirts are a wonderful
way to remember this year’s faire and to
support KCA. The names of our Knight and
Royal sponsors will grace the back of the
shirts. Details for ordering shirts is attached.


SPONSORS/AUCTION
Would you or your business like to be a faire
sponsor? We have three levels of
sponsorship: SQUIRE - $30 donation receives
name and logo on a banner displayed at faire;
KNIGHT - $50 donation receives name and
logo on banner and on the back of the Ren
Faire T-shirts; ROYAL - $100 donation receives
name and logo on banner and T-shirt, one free
T-shirt, two free faire-only tickets. Contact
the office if you would like to be a sponsor.
Do you have an item or service you would
like to donate to our auction? Or do you
know a local business that might like to
donate something to our auction? Please
call the office and let us know.


WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Parental participation is needed! We will be
asking all our parents to lend a hand either in
preparation prior to faire day or on faire day.
Soon we will be sending home a list with all
kinds of opportunities for you to help and it
will include shifts at specific booths. This is
the perfect time to volunteer those final PI
hours for the year!
Thank you for helping make this event one to
remember. The students are working very
hard and are excited about their
performances. You will not want to miss
this incredible day!
