KCA's 12th Renaissance Faire
KCA hosted its twelfth annual Renaissance Faire on Saturday, May 6th, at the Lake County Fairgrounds. As usual, each class performed for a crowd of parents, family members, and friends. Every class did an outstanding job.
The day began with some live auction items being sold, and the Kindergarten class' performance of an active rendition of "The Twelve Days of Shakespeare." The 1st and 2nd grade class followed with their recitation of three of Shakespeare's sonnets, while adding hand-held signs for drama. After a second round of the live auction, the 5th and 6th grade class performed selected scenes entitled, "The Rude Mechanicals." Before lunch was another auction time and the 3rd and 4th grade class' peformance of "Kids in Lurve" (children's version of the comedy "The Taming of the Shrew"). After an outdoor feast, the crowd regathered in the Little Theater to enjoy the junior high class' "Macbeth."
All throughout the day were booths in Lewis Hall showcasing crafts and activities for all ages, as well as a large selection of items in the silent auction. It was a lovely family day, and we are grateful for all those who participated.
