9.27.2011

Konocti Christian Academy, located on the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport, has proudly begun its seventh year! We continue to offer quality Christian education for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, which includes challenging academics, high standards in character, Biblical training, and a low teacher-to-student ratio.

Our upcoming events for September include participation in the national “See You at the Pole” gathering on Wednesday morning, September 28th, as well as our “Back-to-School Night on Thursday, September 29th. We will be kicking off our “Renaissance of Reading" program that evening after joining together for a turkey leg meal. This new program will be a forerunner to our annual “Renaissance Faire-Shakespeare in the Meadow” extravaganza to be held in May, 2012.

Our Kindergarten/1st grade class is full, but we still have openings in the 2nd-8th grades. If you have questions or are interested in possible enrollment, please phone the office at 262-1522.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back!

School has started and we are so glad to see all the new and the familiar faces at KCA! We hope that the first week jitters and new schedules have worked themselves out and that both kids and parents are ready to begin the wonderful adventure of a new school year.

We have lots of exciting things going on at KCA this year. Mrs. Krishelle Bridges, KCA’s Chapel Coordinator will be introducing our new theme for the school year, “Firmly Planted.” For those of you new to KCA this year, the theme is carried through all the chapel speakers and for special team-building days when the kids participate in fun activities. Look for these days to be announced and make sure to wear your new “Firmly Planted” T-shirt! Also, you will soon be receiving information about our “Renaissance of Reading.” This will begin when we kick off the year in a big way with a rousing Renaissance meal of giant turkey legs at our Back-To-School Night and First Fundraiser on September 29. Please feel free to invite your friends and family. A giant smoked turkey leg is hard to resist!

With our enrollment continuing to grow, we are looking forward to the future. Our goal is to locate a suitable modular building to bring in during this school year to be ready to accommodate that growth. Our growth plan is to separate K/1, reconfigure classes into Kindergarten; First/Second; Third/Fourth; Fifth/Sixth, and Seventh/Eighth. Due to some recent changes in enrollment, Mr. Sombs now has Sixth/Seventh and Mrs. Sombs and Mrs. Coffelt have Fourth/Fifth.

We are proud to welcome Mrs. Emily Ferrell as our new KCA aide! You will see her smiling face just about everywhere and we are very pleased about that. Mrs. Dawn Jones is now on staff as morning yard duty attendant. We feel blessed beyond measure at the caliber of teachers and staff that call KCA their home.

If you should ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the office, the Principal, or a Board member at any time. Here’s to a safe and joyful new year!
